“I went blank after seeing this Leopard” – Why? What happened next?
This was my first encounter with a Leopard up-close. This was from Kabini Nagarhole Tiger Reserve from South India. I always wanted to see a leopard on ground and very close as well. It was my dream for many years. Sometimes when a precious wildlife moment we dream of happens in reality, there is a chance we go blank.
At this moment I exactly undergone the same… went blank. That’s when the muscle memory kicks in. It was a late evening sighting and my muscle memory did all the fine adjustments to do a well exposed shot. Not just that, it was always a good idea to click on both orientations. I had the grip handy and it paid off well.
Even till date I can’t decide whether the portrait or the landscape mode I liked the most. Indian Wildlife experiences are packed with uncertainties and we need to expect the unexpected and be ready. Else some nail biting moments may slip off leaving an unforgettable scar.
