NikonD810 is always claimed as not a good fit for Wildlife Photography. I have a different opinion on that. Instead of writing a thousand words explaining why it is so, I’m sharing wildlife photographs taken by Nikon D810.
I would like to start by saying ‘Getting a camera’ is not the starting point of becoming a wildlife photographer. The meaningful starting point to become a wildlife photographer is to be a wildlife lover. Unless you love what you photograph, you can never be a successful wildlife photographer.

Karnataka has a lot of wildlife parks – Biligiri Ranga Hills (BR Hills), Kokkare Bellur Bird Sanctuary, Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, K.Gudi, Kabini (Nagarhole National Park) (Rajiv Gandhi National Park), Bandipur National Park, Dubare Elephant Camp, Dandeli Wildlife Sanctuary, Bhadra Wildife Sanctuary, as well as Bannerghatta nature camp (wildlife not in wild), Mysore zoo (Wildlife not in wild), Bheemeshwari and Galibore.
Kabini is the most famous wildlife destination in India. It is very famously said ‘Kabini never disappoints’. Kabini in rains is heaven on earth. Black Panther at Kabini is a hot favourite among the wildlife enthusiasts.
You would have probably seen a photograph where the background is almost black and it feels like the subject is lit. No doubts, the technique used is negative exposure photography. Using negative exposure photography, you can make the background fully black or partially black; but it is not easy as it sounds since this can’t be achieved just by setting in your camera. We need support from the subject and environment also to take a perfect negative exposed photograph.
